Selected DUNAVOX wine coolers connect straight to your home network, so temperature, lighting and operating modes can be checked and changed from your phone — from the next room or from another country.
Wine only stays in condition if its environment stays in condition. A connected wine cooler removes the guesswork: instead of walking to the cabinet to read a display, you open an app and see exactly what each zone is doing. This page explains how DUNAVOX WiFi connectivity works, which models support it, what you can actually control remotely, and how to complete the setup in a few minutes.

| 01 | What WiFi Connectivity Means on a DUNAVOX Wine Cooler |
The WiFi module is built into the appliance itself, not added through an accessory. The cooler joins your home network directly and communicates with the Smart Life application, available for both iOS and Android.
Two radios work together. Bluetooth Low Energy handles discovery: before the cooler has ever been on a network, it broadcasts its device name, type and unique identifier, which is how your phone finds it in seconds rather than requiring you to hunt for a temporary hotspot. Your network name and password are then passed to the appliance over that Bluetooth link, and the cooler switches to WiFi for everyday operation. Once pairing is complete, Bluetooth is no longer needed — the connection runs over your router.
| No hub, no bridge: the appliance talks to your router directly |
| Two radios, one setup: Bluetooth finds the appliance, WiFi runs it from then on |
| The display keeps working: connectivity is an addition to on-appliance control, never a replacement for it |
| 02 | Which DUNAVOX Models Have WiFi and Smart App Control |
WiFi is fitted to appliances with a TFT or LCD touch screen. It is a model-level feature, not a series-level one — within some collections certain finishes are built on the connected platform while others continue on the previous specification.

The definitive answer for any appliance is its product page specification, or the user manual supplied with it.
Two control platforms are in use across the range, and they are not identical. Appliances with a TFT touch screen and appliances with an LCD touch screen share the same connectivity but differ in a few settings. The settings below are those your appliance offers; the table marks anything that is not common to both platforms.
| Function | Detail |
|---|
| Temperature by zone | Adjusted in single-degree steps. On a dual-zone appliance the upper zone covers 5–10 °C and the lower zone 10–18 °C, with factory settings of 6 °C and 12 °C. Single-zone models such as the Spirit 19 cover 5–18 °C, factory set to 12 °C |
| Operating mode | Standard, Eco and Demo on every connected model. Sabbath Mode is available on TFT models only |
| Lighting duration | Follow-the-door, 1 minute or 30 minutes on every connected model. TFT models add a permanently-on option; LCD models offer 24 hours instead |
| Lighting brightness | 50%, 75% or 100%. Factory setting is 75% |
| Lighting colour | Three preset colours. TFT models: white, blue and warm white. LCD models: white, blue and orange |
| Display unit | Celsius or Fahrenheit |
| Control panel lock | Locks the on-appliance panel so settings cannot be changed by accident |
| DUNAVOX tip |
| Before guests arrive, bring the serving zone down a degree or two while you are still on your way home. The cabinet reaches the target gradually rather than being pushed hard at the last minute, which is exactly how a wine cooler is meant to work. |
| 04 | How to Connect Your Wine Cooler to WiFi |
The first two steps are the same for every connected DUNAVOX appliance. Step three — putting the cooler into pairing mode — depends on which display your model has. Keep your WiFi password to hand before you start.
| Step 1 — Install the app. Download Smart Life from the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code supplied in your user manual. |
| Step 2 — Create an account and join your home WiFi. Your phone must be on the same 2.4 GHz network you want the cooler to join, with Bluetooth switched on. |
Step 3 — put the appliance into pairing mode. Choose the column that matches your appliance.
TFT touch screen Noble · Prime · selected Flow, Grande and Sera |
| On the home screen of the display, tap the WiFi icon. |
| Tap Connect. The appliance enters pairing mode. |
| If pairing fails, the display shows a failure indicator — tap Reconnect to start again. |
LCD touch screen Spirit · Horizon |
| With the appliance powered on, press and hold the function button for three seconds. |
| Wait for four beeps. The backlight behind the button lights up, confirming pairing mode. |
| The backlight switches off once the network connection succeeds. If it fails, check the network and repeat. |
| Step 4 — Add the device in the app. Tap the plus icon and choose Add Device. The app searches automatically and the appliance appears as an icon. |
| Step 5 — Enter your WiFi password. Stay near the appliance and wait for the pairing to complete. |
| Step 6 — Done. The app opens the wine cooler control panel and the appliance confirms the connection on the display or by switching the button backlight off. |
The exact procedure for your appliance is in its user manual, available from Product Support. A condensed version is on the last page of the model checker, so you can follow it on your phone at the appliance.
| 05 | Network Requirements Worth Checking First |
The single most common cause of a failed connection is the WiFi band. The appliance operates on 2.4 GHz networks only — a deliberate choice, because 2.4 GHz travels further through cabinetry and masonry than 5 GHz and gives a more stable link for an appliance that sits inside furniture.
| Combined 2.4 / 5 GHz networks |
| Many routers broadcast both bands under a single network name. If pairing does not complete, temporarily separate the bands into two network names in your router settings, connect the appliance to the 2.4 GHz one, and combine them again afterwards if you prefer. |
| Bluetooth on the phone |
| Discovery uses Bluetooth Low Energy, so Bluetooth must be enabled on your phone during setup and you should stand near the appliance while pairing. |
| Signal reach inside cabinetry |
| A built-in or fully integrated appliance sits behind furniture panels. In larger homes, a mesh node or repeater near the kitchen resolves an intermittent connection far more reliably than repeated pairing attempts. |
Connectivity becomes genuinely useful when it is paired with the operating modes, particularly for owners who travel or run the appliance in a commercial setting. Standard, Eco and Demo are on every connected model; Sabbath Mode is fitted to TFT models only.
| Eco Mode — for time away |
| Eco reduces consumption by switching the interior lighting off after three seconds and the display around twenty seconds after the door closes, while cooling continues as normal. Switch it on as you leave for a holiday and back to Standard before you return. On TFT models the lighting colour cannot be changed while Eco is active. |
| Demo Mode — for showrooms |
| In Demo Mode the compressor stops while every other function keeps working — the door mechanism, the lighting, the display. For retailers running several appliances on a shop floor, being able to set this without walking the floor is a practical advantage. |
| Sabbath Mode — TFT models only |
| On appliances with a TFT touch screen, Sabbath Mode switches off the interior and logo lighting and the display, while the appliance continues to preserve your wine. It is not offered on LCD models. |
Read more about the interface itself in our TFT touch screen guide.
| 07 | If the Connection Does Not Work |
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|
| The app does not find the appliance | Bluetooth enabled on the phone, and the appliance still in pairing mode. On LCD models the button backlight is lit while pairing is active |
| Pairing fails at the password step | The network is 2.4 GHz, and the password is correct including capitalisation |
| A failure indicator appears on the display | TFT models: tap Reconnect to restart the process. LCD models: check the network and repeat the press-and-hold from step three |
| The display does not respond to touch | The control panel may be locked — hold the padlock icon for three seconds to unlock |
| The connection drops repeatedly | Signal strength at the installation position — consider a mesh node or repeater near the kitchen |

| 08 | Your Data and the Application |
The Smart Life application is developed and operated by a third party, not by DUNAVOX. Creating an account and using the app is subject to that provider’s own terms of use and privacy policy, which you should read before registering. Connectivity is optional: every function described on this page is also available directly on the appliance display, and a wine cooler that is never connected to a network works exactly as intended.
| 09 | Frequently Asked Questions |
| Which app do I need for a DUNAVOX wine cooler? |
| Connected DUNAVOX wine coolers are operated through the Smart Life application, available for iOS and Android. A QR code for the download is included in the user manual supplied with the appliance. |
| Does a DUNAVOX wine cooler work on a 5 GHz network? |
| No. The appliance supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks only. If your router broadcasts both bands under one name and pairing fails, separate the bands temporarily and connect the appliance to the 2.4 GHz network. |
| Do I need a smart home hub or bridge? |
| No. The WiFi module is built into the appliance and connects directly to your router. Bluetooth is used only during initial pairing, to help your phone discover the appliance quickly. |
| Is the pairing procedure the same on every model? |
| Almost. Installing the app, adding the device and entering the password are identical. Only the step that puts the appliance into pairing mode differs: TFT models use a WiFi icon on the display, while LCD models use a three-second press on the function button, confirmed by four beeps and a lit button backlight. |
| Can I change the temperature of both zones from my phone? |
| Yes. On a dual-zone appliance each zone is adjusted independently in single-degree steps, within the range specified for that model. Single-zone models have one adjustable range. |
| Do all DUNAVOX wine coolers have WiFi? |
| No. WiFi is fitted to models with a TFT or LCD touch screen — the full Noble, Prime and Spirit collections, the Horizon models with an LCD touch screen, and selected Flow, Grande and Sera models. The Balance, Joy and Home collections do not offer connectivity. |
| Does my model have Sabbath Mode? |
| Sabbath Mode is fitted to appliances with a TFT touch screen. LCD models offer Standard, Eco and Demo. Check the specification of your model or its user manual. |
| Will the wine cooler still work without WiFi? |
| Yes. Connectivity is entirely optional. Every setting is available on the appliance display, and cooling is unaffected by the network status. |
| What happens after a power cut? |
| A temperature memory function keeps your temperature settings when the appliance switches back on. Most power cuts are resolved within a few hours and will not affect the cabinet if you keep the door closed. |
