Warranty arrangements differ depending on where the product was purchased. Please read the section that applies to your country of purchase.
• Section 2 – your statutory rights as a consumer
• Section 3 – the Dunavox commercial guarantee, which applies in European Union and EEA countries where Dunavox is the guarantor
• Section 4 – countries outside the European Union and the EEA, and EU/EEA countries served by an authorised distributor issuing its own guarantee
1. Where to Find Your Warranty Terms
A warranty certificate is supplied with every appliance. It identifies the guarantor for your country and sets out the terms that apply to your purchase. Please keep it together with your proof of purchase.
If no warranty certificate was supplied with the product, or if you are unsure which terms apply to you, please contact the seller or the authorised local importer or distributor in your country.
2. Statutory Consumer Rights
Statutory rights exist independently of any commercial guarantee. They cannot be restricted or excluded, and nothing on this page affects or diminishes them.
2.1 European Union and EEA
Under Directive (EU) 2019/771 and its national implementations, consumers are entitled to a legal guarantee of conformity. The statutory period is generally at least 24 months, or longer where national provisions require extended protection.
If the product does not conform to the contract of sale, the consumer is entitled to free repair or replacement, or, where repair or replacement is impossible or disproportionate, to a price reduction or a refund. Statutory claims are exercised with the seller, unless national law provides otherwise.
Some Member States additionally provide for a mandatory statutory warranty (mandatory guarantee) alongside the legal guarantee of conformity. Where such rules apply, they apply in full, in addition to and independently of the commercial guarantee described in Section 3, and the seller or other party designated by national law is responsible for fulfilling them.
2.2 Other Markets
Outside the European Union and the EEA, statutory consumer rights are governed exclusively by the national consumer protection law of the country of purchase, and are exercised in accordance with that law.
3. Dunavox Commercial Guarantee (EU/EEA, where Dunavox is the guarantor)
This section applies where the warranty certificate supplied with the product identifies Dunavox as the guarantor. It is a voluntary commercial guarantee offered in addition to statutory rights. Where the certificate identifies a different guarantor, Section 4 applies instead.
3.1 Guarantee Period
Dunavox provides a commercial guarantee of 36 months from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing and material defects under normal domestic use.
3.2 Extended Compressor Guarantee – a Total of 5 Years
The compressor is covered for an additional 24 months, giving a total of 5 years of compressor coverage from the date of purchase, provided that the product is registered at www.dunavox.com within 30 days of purchase.
Registration is a condition of the extension. If the product is not registered within 30 days, the extended compressor guarantee does not apply and the standard 36-month period remains in force. Registration requires the model designation, serial number and date of purchase.
The extension covers the compressor only. All other components remain covered under the standard 36-month period.
3.3 What Is Covered
Within the applicable guarantee period, and subject to the conditions and exclusions in Section 3.4, the guarantee covers:
• Repair or replacement of components found to be defective in manufacturing or material
• Labour costs for such repairs, where carried out by an authorised Dunavox service partner
• Transportation of the appliance for repair, in accordance with local service policy
• Compressor-related manufacturing or material defects during the extended compressor period. The method of resolution (repair, component replacement or an alternative solution) is determined by technical feasibility and regional service capability.
Removal and reinstallation of built-in appliances are the responsibility of the end user.
For safety reasons, on-site service is not provided for units installed more than 2 metres above floor level.
3.4 What Is Not Covered
The commercial guarantee covers manufacturing and material defects only. It does not cover defects or damage arising from:
Installation and use
• Incorrect installation, or failure to observe the ventilation requirements in the user manual
• Installation in locations where ambient conditions fall outside the product specification
• Improper handling, misuse, negligence, or operation contrary to the user manual
• Use for commercial purposes, unless expressly permitted for the model concerned
• Resale or secondary-market use, in respect of the extended compressor guarantee
External and environmental causes
• Damage in transport or relocation after purchase
• Impact, shock or mechanical force, including broken shelves and handles
• Scratches, dents, broken glass, and other aesthetic or cosmetic damage
• Wear, discoloration or deterioration of appearance over time
• Voltage fluctuation or unstable or incorrect electrical supply
• Fire, flood, water damage, pests, mould, humidity extremes or natural disasters
Interventions and parts
• Repairs or modifications carried out by non-authorised technicians
• Use of non-original spare parts or accessories
• Consumables such as lights, filters, accessories and decorative items
Stored contents and consequential loss
• Loss, spoilage or deterioration of wine or other stored items
• Damage to surrounding furniture, cabinetry or structures
• Indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit or business interruption
These exclusions apply to the commercial guarantee only. They do not limit statutory consumer rights under Section 2.
3.5 Territorial Scope
The commercial guarantee applies in the country where the product was purchased. If the appliance is moved to another country, service availability may be limited by differences in service networks, component standards and national regulations.
3.6 Making a Claim
Claims are submitted via the Service Request Form on the relevant country page at www.dunavox.com. The following are required:
• Proof of purchase
• Proof of registration, for claims under the extended compressor guarantee
• Model designation and serial number
• A description of the fault and of the installation environment
Repairs are carried out only by authorised service partners.
A repair or replacement does not extend or renew the guarantee period, unless mandatory national law provides otherwise.
The commercial guarantee applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable, unless mandatory national law provides otherwise.
4. Markets Served by an Authorised Importer or Distributor
In countries outside the European Union and the EEA, and in EU/EEA countries where the product is placed on the market by an authorised importer or distributor issuing its own guarantee, the commercial guarantee is offered by that importer or distributor and not by Dunavox.
In those markets, the warranty certificate issued by the authorised importer or distributor is the sole source of the guarantee terms. It determines the guarantor, the duration, the coverage, the conditions and the exclusions, as well as the claim procedure. Section 3 of this page does not apply in those markets, and Dunavox makes no commercial guarantee undertaking towards the purchaser there.
Claims are to be submitted to the authorised importer or distributor, in accordance with the warranty certificate supplied with the product. Statutory consumer rights under the national law of the country of purchase apply in all cases, as set out in Section 2.
5. General Provisions
5.1 Priority of National Law
Where mandatory national consumer protection rules provide rights that go beyond those described on this page, those national provisions prevail.
5.2 Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, liability under the commercial guarantee is limited to the invoiced value of the product.
Nothing on this page limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
5.3 Force Majeure
Dunavox is not liable for delay or non-performance caused by events outside its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism or civil unrest, acts of government, pandemics or public health restrictions, strikes or labour disputes, transport disruption or border closures, and supplier failure or component shortages.
Performance is suspended for the duration of such events. This provision does not affect statutory consumer rights.
